Act III Studio is located in Fairfax, Virginia, and is owned and operated by J.P. Hesford, with invaluable advice and (constructive) criticism from his partner Kati. Following more than 30 years of service in the Marine Corps and State Department, which brought him to military bases and embassies across the globe, J.P. is proud to return to his Virginia roots.
J.P. became interested in concrete more than a decade ago, installing a set of garage-made concrete countertops in the kitchen of a semi-reluctant neighborhood friend (thanks, Hank!). He has since experimented in both wood and concrete design in garages and basements from Serbia to India to Australia during a succession of overseas assignments.

ACT III is committed to realizing unique and authentic works by putting a light touch to already beautiful raw components. We focus on preserving and celebrating natural flaws in the wood and concrete to maximize aesthetic appeal and we aim to create durable works for everyday use by real people.
